Daryl Lawlor started practicing various forms of mixed martial arts at the age of 16, initially using it as an outlet for his excess energy – obtaining his black belt in 2003. Whilst pursuing his Banking and Finance degree in Australia, Daryl took Muay Thai to another level – taking part in competitions across Singapore, Thailand, and Australia. During his stint as a competitive fighter, Daryl won 15 out of his 16 professional fights.
Upon graduation, Daryl resumed his career in Finance, but the monotony of being desk-bound led him to question the meaning of life and its purpose. He eventually packed up his bags and took to Thailand, in pursuit of answers. He chanced upon a monastery and stayed on for 7 months, learning the art of meditation and philosophies of Buddhism – deepening his understanding of the theology upon which his Muay Thai was intrinsically linked. Daryl ended his stint in Thailand with one last fight, culminating in his first title fight – Lightweight Victorian Champion – at the age of 24.
In 2014, Daryl set up Inspire as a fitness platform to motivate other through what he knows best, Muay Thai. At Inspire, Daryl works with a group of dedicated and experienced instructors/trainers to design programs that focus on each individual and their goals through personal training and group classes.
